Special characteristics of the wine:
What type of wine is Unexpected Garnacha
Unexpected Garnacha is a delicious, young red wine aged for a short period of time in oak barrels (6 months). It comes from the La Loma plot of vines aged between 60 and 80 years old. It can be described as juicy, exquisite, very aromatic, and fruity.
The Pago Ayles Winery
Finca Aylés is located in northeastern Spain, near the city of Zaragoza, halfway between Madrid and Barcelona.
The Ramón Reula family's winemaking project began in the 1980s and culminated with the reunification of various properties that had belonged to the so-called Finca Aylés since the Middle Ages. At that time, it became one of the largest privately owned historic estates in Aragon, with more than 3,200 hectares of land and valuable ecological and landscape qualities.
Ayles Designation of Origin
In 2011, the "Aylés" Pago Wine was recognized in the Autonomous Community of Aragon and registered with the European Union as the "Aylés" Protected Designation of Origin.
It has 46 cultivated hectares located in the municipality of Mezalocha (Zaragoza).
The varieties authorized for its production are:
Grenacha Tinta
Tempranillo
Cabernet Sauvignon
Merlot
The different composition of the wines from this designation provides more intense aromas in the young wines, as well as greater fruit identification in the crianzas, compared to other wines from the surrounding area.
Grape variety used in Unexpected Garnacha
