Alicante wines
Alicante is a wine appellation of origin in the province of Alicante, in Spain. The wine-growing area is divided into two sub-areas: La Marina, on the north coast of Alicante, and Vinalopó, which extends to the limits of Castilla-La Mancha and the Region of Murcia. It has an area of 14,256 ha and has 50 registered wineries. It obtained the qualification of appellation of origin in 1932.
