In 2006 Jose Antonio Ibarra, winemaker profession and with long experience in the wine world, founded on Mara Augusta Bilbilis winery in what purports to be a return to its roots, to the original wine he met when he was a child. Thus, José Antonio makes the leap and rehabilitates the cellar where his grandfather made wine back in 1940.

The philosophy of this new project is based on producing wines bearing the name Mara and Calatayud worldwide through natural techniques of viticulture mountain, taking advantage of the climatic conditions of the area, relying on the possibilities of the grape native, Grenache.
