The July 10, 1890, five Basque and Rioja winemakers lit, in what is known as the Barrio de la Estación de Haro, the constitution of the "Rioja VINICOLA HIGH SOCIETY". Then began an exciting business venture in which the five founders had only dream of making and aging of fine wines.
The European spirit of today much talk, and live in La Rioja and our winery in those early days. Thus, the French Vigier was hired as technical direction and soon the development we now call "classic" dominates.
