The project of Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza was born in 1994, as they themselves admit, with few resources and many ideas. They made their first wine, Alma, in Navarra with Garnacha grapes, at a time when the trend was toward planting Cabernet and Merlot, already demonstrating their strong personality. In 1995, they made a wine in Arribes del Duero with the Juan García grape, a local variety of great quality but very little known.
In 2007, they built their first winery in Lanciego, Bodega Lanzaga, and in 2011, they bottled the first vintage of one of their legendary wines, Las Beatas, a wine that is the fruit of more than 20 years of work that sought from the beginning to recover the taste of forgotten Rioja.
